SUMMER 2019

The Camp Experience

Everyday your camper will get to make crafts, explore their voice, use their body to bodies as an instrument of story telling, play a whole bunch of drama games, and make new friends!

We spend most of our lunch hour outside, so students must bring a bagged lunch, sunscreen, hat, and water bottle every day.

Our camps are focused on theatre in two ways:

1. Drama is an amazing way to explore self expression and have lots of fun. Creativity and imagination are our staples!

2. We focus on theatre as an avenue to learn about teamwork, problem solving, and finding your voice. Through the course of the week campers take part in creating and performing a play. This involves a ton of collaboration! As teachers we facilitate and direct this process. We take every opportunity to teach about things like teamwork and how to accomplish goals together. While every camper brings something unique, no one camper brings it all, we all need each other!

At the end of each camp, we celebrate the students’ achievements with a performance on Friday at 5pm, open to family and friends of participants. Please invite your neighbours, friends, and anyone else you can think of to celebrate your campers hard work!

Along with the week-end performance, we also put together a slideshow of all the fun we had during the week!

Camp fees include an early supper for campers on Friday afternoon as camp runs long that day.

COLLABORATIVE CREATION

Students will explore a full range of theatre techniques including movement, voice, character, creation, improv, and high-energy theatre games.  Through these exciting and entertaining lessons, students will create their very own original group performance for family and friends at the end of the week!

Students will also get to practice audition techniques and receive performance resume tips.

To tailor each students experience, students will have the opportunity to prioritize which of the three streams of acting/dancing/signing they are most interested in. Each student will experience training in each area as well as extra classes in their area of interest.

Passionate about acting but never taken a dance class before? Seasoned in musical theatre but never worked on a monologue before? Do you have skills in acting, dancing, AND singing but are looking for the next step? This is the camp for you!
